I like head ties, a lot! But, I don’t really know how to tie them, I can only learn the few I can on Youtube.
After watching three Youtube videos, I finally learnt how to tie a side turban head tie well!
Let’s get into it, shall we? ?
One thing these tutorials won’t tell you is that the size of the scarf will determine the size of the turban head tie.
So for a big head tie, you need a big scarf and for a small head tie…
I like my head tie big just like I like my chicken ? and the scarf i’m using is 3 yards
Fold the scarf three times. This is so it doesn’t create an unnecessary bulge at the top of your head. It should be made as easy as possible so you don’t make mistakes.
Divide into two and place the scarf at the back of your head. Straighten each part to form a straight line.
Neatly tie into a knot and make it tight enough, so that the scarf stays on for as long as 7-9 hours.
Roll the first half of the scarf, like a rope as seen in the picture.
Roll the second half, neat and tight.
Roll both “ropes” into each other to make one “rope”.
Take the one final rope and form a circle, like a croissant.
Tuck the end of the scarf underneath the “croissant” and adjust every other fabric that’s outside the circle.
Also, adjust the turban to the side properly and VOILA!
You have a Side Turban Head tie on your head.
P.S.: Please make it as tight as you want but don’t tie it too tight, it could cause a headache.
Do you fancy headties?
